Misugami - Heritage Washi

A handmade sheet of 100% Japanese Kozo cooked in soda ash.

Cooked with soda ash, with added gofun (shell powder), dried on wooden boards. Inclusion of gofun improves dimensional stability of the paper: prevents shrinkage & curling in changing humidity levels. Used in Japan for backing for scrolls to help them hang flat.

Used for Conservation, Repair, Wet Mounting, Printmaking, Silkscreen, Relief Print, Collage.
