'Pattern paper', has a long history, leading from 18th century Italy to 1920s London, where famous Curwen Press revived the tradition of decorative binding papers using repeating patterns (see the English Decorative section too). They commissioned young artists such as Paul Nash, Eric Ravilious and Edward Bawden.
In the 1980s, Judd Street had the idea of reviving this tradition. Although the gallery is now only a publishing business, with no public presence, they have kept the range of papers going with new additions, and a cross-over with the Pollock’s Toy Museum Trust.
The Pollock’s ‘Oliver Twist’ series can be used for wrapping, but together they provide all the scenes and characters for performing a toy theatre version of Oliver Twist, with the theatre front and even the orchestra. Excellent creative project to start with children for example.30 products in this category, displaying products 1 to 30.
