Festival Origami - May 10

LON25MAY10ORI

One Day Festival Origami Workshop.

Saturday May 10th 2025
10:30am-4:30pm
at 30 Gillingham Street, London.

Dating back to the 1600s, the wonderful art of 'origami' (from Japanese ori "to fold" and gami "paper") takes many forms.

This inspirational one-day paper folding workshop concentrates on origami for celebrations, suitable for birthdays, weddings and parties.

You will learn how to create several structures - cranes, penguins, doves, tulips, Danish hearts, a garland mobile, a one cut star, a wreath and more, all using a selection of Shepherds' beautiful decorative papers.

All materials are supplied.

Tutor: Helen Holtam

Helen Holtam is a member of the British Origami Society. She has taught practical and easy origami to people of all ages for over 30 years.

She has held her own London exhibition and has helped countless school pupils and community groups to learn to enjoy the art of origami, particularly simple, modular origami.

She is the founder of a programme for prisoners called 'origami inside' which raises money for rehabilitation.
