Sample Book - Katazome

A sample pack of our current range of 20 Katazome- shi papers.

Each piece is coded on the reverse and comes hole punched ready to insert into an A6 Shepherds *sample folder. (*available by request)

'Katazome-shi' literally means stencil dyed paper. Based on traditional kimono printing techniques, these papers are stencilled by hand through a screen one colour at a time. The pigments absorb deeply into the paper to produce long lasting intense colour.
The base sheet is a hand made kozo with 4 deckle edges. Light weight but strong and forgiving with good wet strength. Perfect for bookbinding, origami, boxmaking, collage and card making, lampshades, covering furniture and walls!
